Paper Mache Glue
What you'll need:
• 1/2 cup flour
• 2 cups cold water
• 2 cups boiling water (in a saucepan)
• 3 tablespoons sugar
1. In a bowl, combine the flour and cold water.
2. Stir the mixture into the saucepan of boiling water (a parent's job). Bring it to a boil again, stirring continuously.
3. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the sugar.
4. Let the paste cool completely before using (it will thicken as it cools).
Rubber band bracelets
You will need:
Colored rubber bands at least 1/4" thick
Gel Xtreme Pastel and metallic pens
Decorative hair snaps
Small 1/8" hole punch
Instructions:
Decorate the rubber bands with the gel pens. Make different patterns or write your name on the band. Let the ink dry for about 1/2 hour then punch a little hole in the band where you want the snaps to go. Insert the snaps into the punched holes and close to secure them to the rubber band. You can exchange the rubber band bracelets with your friends and write fun messages on them or you can use them to hold little things together.
The gel ink can be removed easily with a sponge and water, so that you can write new messages on your bracelet. If you want the message to be more permanent you need to spray it with a very light coat of hair spray.
(You should ask an adult to help you do this)
